Indecent Exposure

A Public Safety Shuttle driver contacted TUPD to complain of a man exposing himself near the University area. A student who was dropped off by the University shuttle was walking to her car when she noticed a man sitting on the steps of a home across the street. The man, wearing a robe, spread his legs, and exposed his genitals. The student said that once the man saw her, he began to fondle himself. The student returned to the shuttle driver to report what she saw, and the driver called TUPD.

Two TUPD officers responded to the scene, and were advised that the man was standing at the door of a yellow house on Pine Street. When the officers went to the home, the door was closed. A woman answered the door and the officers asked if there was anyone else in the home. The woman answered no, but one of the officers heard someone inside. The woman said that the person was her grandson, but she had not realized he was home. The student, who was waiting outside, positively identified the man as the person who had exposed himself. The man refused to leave the house or give the officers any form of identification.
