Door replacements

June - August 2009

New Carpeting outside Kendall-Cram room and the Mezzanine of the second floor

The doors of the Lavin-Bernick Center broke over time, due to the constant pressure of being opened and closed. The doors are heavy and difficult to repair, and when they do break, must be custom ordered, which can take a few months. The new doors were redesigned and underwent extensive testing to assure they could handle stress. The Kendall-Cram Room and Mezzanine, the second floor of the LBC, were re-carpeted during the summer. Both areas are used throughout the year for conferences, meetings and as a study space for students. The new carpet revamped the area.

Fan repairs in dining facilities

Future Plans

New brighter, more comfortable furniture and more desk space in Pederson Lobby

Some fans in the LBC dining area became loose and were reinstalled with new bolts. The fans are used when the LBC enters open facility mode, when all of the doors and sky lights of the building are opened. New, more comfortable furniture and better lighting is being considered for the Pederson Lobby on the first floor of the LBC. Ideas include more desk space and more lightweight, study-conducive furniture. Used as both a study space and for university functions, the Pederson Lobby caters to student and university demands.
