Princess Beatrice or Princess Eugenie could be William and Kate's new palace neighbors.

Princesses Eugenie or Beatrice are expected to move into Apartment 1 of Kate Middleton and Prince William's Kensington Palace apartment, which was previously home to Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, and his wife Brigette. They reportedly moved out in 2019 to downsize.

The apartment has reportedly been vacant since then, with speculation circulating as to who might be the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's next potential neighbors.

Kate and Will's current apartment, 1A, has 20 rooms, including five reception rooms, three master bedrooms, and two nurseries.

According to the Mirror, Marlene Koenig, a royal historian and expert, the next neighbors could be Princess Beatrice or Eugenie.

When asked about the various royal residences and homes that members of the Royal Family own, and the challenges of determining who will live in them in the future, she told The Express that Princess Anne's home is "her own" and will be passed down to her children.

"It's not a royal residence," she clarified.

"There's an area nearby that Mark Phillips assisted in purchasing prior to the divorce, and that's where Zara and Peter live and have their homes รข it'll all be theirs at some point."

"However, other homes and royal residences are currently focused on maintaining what they have."

"I use Kensington Palace as an example: there are apartments in there, and Apartment 1 is now vacant; what will they do with it?"

"What will Historic Royal Palaces do with that?" says the narrator.

"I wouldn't mind Beatrice or Eugenie and their families living in one of those apartments, even if they weren't working royals," says the author.

"They would be responsible for the upkeep, security, and other costs."

"You simply cannot rent out those apartments to people: there are many places they rent out on the market, but would they rent out apartment 1 to someone who is not a member of the Royal Family?"

"Because it's literally right across the street from the Cambridges' house."

Eugenie Brooksbank currently resides at Frogmore Cottage with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, and their son, August Brooksbank.

Meanwhile, Beatrice lives in St James' Palace with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and their baby Sienna, who was born on September 18. The Duke of Cambridge admitted this week that while working for the East Anglia Air Ambulance, he often hid the "stresses and strains of the day."

He spoke about the importance of taking care of one's mental health in a filmed discussion with ambulance staff, and noted how the constant stream of calls from those in need during the "most stressful conditions" made for an extremely difficult job.

"Any job I went to with children in the air ambulance really affected me, much more than I think it would have if I hadn't had children," Prince William said.

"So, for me, it was the relationship with my personal life, primarily my family, or the incident I was at - I found that extremely difficult."

"I had to take myself away a few times because I was just getting too caught up in it and feeling it," she says. "And then I'd go talk to someone else after the event, which was really important, but it doesn't really leave you there - you just manage it better."
