Fans React to Kathie Lee Gifford's 'Today Show' Alum Gaining 'Grandma' Status
Since leaving the Today Show in April 2019, Kathie Lee Gifford has had a busy schedule.
The NBC alum is still working on her music career, has written several books, and has seen both of her children, Cody, 31, and Cassidy, 28, marry.
Gifford has a new moniker to add to her long list of accomplishments.
Gifford announced "Baby Gifford - June 2022" on a message board on December 13, along with the Bible verse James 1:17, which says, "Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (NIV)"
On Instagram, the Today Show alum congratulated her son, Cody, and his wife, Erika Brown.
Gifford couldn't contain her happiness as she shared her joy in a caption alongside the announcement, which included a wedding video of the happy couple.
She wrote, "I am over a blue or pink moon!!!"
"It doesn't matter to me which. I'm ecstatic for you both, @mrsamerikagifford, and our family. Praise our Living and Loving God!"
Erika shared the same photo on her Instagram account, informing her followers that they would have to wait to learn the gender of their new baby.
Gifford's fans were quick to express their support for the former morning show host, with some already referring to her by her new title.
"Congratulations!!!! God bless your family and there is nothing like being a grandmother. It's a whole new chapter," one person wrote. "Love you and your beautiful family."
"I'm so happy for you and your family! You're going to be the best and coolest Grandma ever!" gushed a fan.
"What wonderful news. We became grandparents last year, and it is the greatest joy!!! So thrilled for all of you!!!" wrote another.
Gifford stepped down from the Today Show almost four years after her husband, NFL legend Frank Gifford, died.
She has established roots in Nashville, where she is thriving and has just released her latest book, The Jesus I Know.
Gifford shares her Christian faith and weaves scripture throughout the text, as well as interviews with celebrities such as Kristin Chenoweth, Kris Jenner, Craig Ferguson, and Jimmie Allen about their spiritual journeys to give readers a variety of viewpoints on faith.
"Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, I hope my friends will encourage you as you consider the Jesus you know," Gifford writes.
"Perhaps you don't know who Jesus is, but you're curious, and as you read these conversations, you're about to embark on an adventure!"
The Jesus I Know is now available for purchase.
