Back in October, when I decided to write my first article about the treatment of Sodexo and UNICCO workers at Tulane, never would I have thought that organizing efforts would begin this year. With that being said, I cannot tell you how happy I am to be wrong — and believe me that’s a first.
Now that […]

Wal-Mart
1901 Tchoupitoulas Street
Wal-Mart gets a bad rap. Its labor practices, market dominance and history of harsh negotiating tactics have given the company brand recognition problems that would put even McDonalds to shame. But to those paying attention, America’s largest grocer has been making some interesting steps to become, at the very least, marginally less evil. If […]

Seduction is an often-overlooked component of social status. It’s usually — and wrongly — reduced to conversations about sex and promiscuity. It’s better, however, to look at it the other way.
Exciting the passions and desires of an object of your affection is no simple task. Our arsenals contain multiple kinds of feints, misdirects, taunts and p-p-p-poker […]

Zulu
8 a.m. Feb. 16
Talk about Mardi Gras with any veteran parade attendee, and Zulu is destined to come up. It’s the most famous Mardi Gras day parade, beginning its route before many New Orleanians have recovered from the night before. But its early start time is part of its allure; making the beginning of Zulu proves […]

Complete and utter confusion is […]
