Valentine's-Day
This year’s Valentine’s Day movie event is simply titled: “Valentine’s Day.” Director Gary Marshall (“The Princess Diaries,” “Pretty Woman”) presents a film that follows a series of intertwining love stories, or for some, unrequited love stories, during one Los Angeles V-Day. The film is adapted from a screenplay by Katherine Fugate with plot assistance from Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein of “He’s Just Not That Into You” fame.

“Valentine’s Day” features a host of celebrities and moves seamlessly between their stories. Jessica Alba is the aloof girlfriend of lovesick Ashton Kutcher. Jamie Foxx works as a news anchor in search of a Valentine’s human-interest story. Queen Latifah plays the heartless boss of Anne Hathaway, who practically reprises her thankless “The Devil Wears Prada” role. For those without dates, Jessica Biel throws an “I Hate Valentine’s Day” party. Other celebrities featured include Patrick Dempsey, Taylor Swift, Taylor Lautner, Julia Roberts and Shirley MacLaine.

While the premise sounds suspiciously like 2003’s “Love Actually,” the film promises to boast enough eye candy to please any movie buff, even if you’re not a fan of chick-flicks. This movie will definitely get you in the Valentine’s Day spirit and ready for some romance. Valentine’s Day releases Feb. 12.
