The Newcomb College Institute will hold its biannual summit Thursday through Sunday in the Lavin-Bernick Center. “Power Lines: Women Transform the Grid” will bring political heavyweights, documentary filmmakers, renowned professors, a dance group and the leaders of an international development Web site to Tulane. The summit is free and open to the public, though the registration deadline was Jan. 23.Organizers said that more than 400 people have registered for the summit. The majority of expected attendees are Tulane students. Many will attend with their classes, Newcomb Director of Institute Programs and Events Jan Mulvihill said.
